5 Uses for Eucalyptus
I love the ways that Eucalyptus have been popping up in my life lately. I thought I’d share a few ways that I’ve been using this incredible plant and ways I look forward to incorporating it into my life.
1.Leaves in the Shower
I purchase Eucalyptus from the Ventura farmers market every couple of weeks and tie it in the shower. The steam from the shower releases the beneficial respiratory properties of the plant.A few weeks ago when I was overcoming the nagging cough/cold and now moving into allergy season I make sure I’ve got my shower essential.
2.Household Cleaner
Eucalyptus has anti-microbial properties that pair perfectly with spring cleaning.I like to mix basic household cleaners that incorporate eucalyptus oil.My go to mopping solution:warm water, white vinegar, some dish soap, and add about 15 drops of eucalyptus oil.
3.Bug Repellent
Eucalyptus is a natural bug repellent. The flies have been building up and I’ve taken a few sprigs of eucalyptus from my shower bundle and place them around the house.I also used eucalyptus oil in my homemade bug spray recipe last year.Check it out here
4.Odor Reducer
Its as simple as placing some drops of Eucalyptus in a diffuser to rid your house of stinky odors. Try using a few drops in your laundry in your dryer vent. Remove orders from shoes, dog beds, floors, or your stinkiest things with diluted mixture of oil and water.
5.Wound Care
This one is new to me, but credible research is saying that Eucalyptus is great for healing wounds. I’m about to try this on some of my mosquito bites that I’ve gotten at all of this outdoor yoga!
If you have any other tips and tricks for uses of Eucalyptus we’d love to hear from you.
